Day 322 of 365
After work today, I did a photo shoot for a fabulous lady that I work with and her husband. Last November, Andrea asked if I could take photographs of her and her husband, Jon, for Christmas cards. I was a bit nervous as this was one of my first real photography jobs in which I was not taking photographs for family members. I was honoured and grateful that she had the confidence in me to do a real photoshoot. This really meant a lot as confidence in my art has been a bit of a struggle for me. After the photoshoot, it was the first time that I felt really overjoyed and proud of my work and I think that it was the real first building blocks for me taking on more photography jobs.
Thus today was really full circle for me. I love shooting photographs of parents to be, it is such a special time and I truly feel honoured to be in the presence of the energy and excitement of the parents-to-be. I think Andrea and Jon are going to make amazing parents, I always look up to Andrea as she takes on life in such a relaxed, serene, optimistic manner and Jon is a hard worker with a great sense of humor that always has Dustin and I in stitches! As well, they are both great hockey fans - but the big question remains - will the baby be a Canucks or an Avalanche fan? Only time will tell.
